SPRING 2007 NEWS BITS:
Dr. Steven Bolstad, UM Director of Bands, has accepted a position at James Mason University and will leave UM at the end of the current academic year. Leon Slater, Big Sky H.S. band director, will serve as interim UM band director while a search for a permanent replacement is found.

Angie Keedy, Capitol H.S. band director, will be leaving Montana to become the principal at a middle school in Greely, CO next fall.

A Granite Falls, Washington K-12 music teacher, Andrea Peterson, has been named "National Teacher of the Year" and was recognized in a White House ceremony in late April.

MENC: The National Association for Music Education Collaborates with Arts4All to Bring ArtsPass™ Digital Education Resources to Music Teachers

Exclusive Webcasts, Streaming Video, Interviews With Well-Known Artists Offered Through Discounted Membership

NEW YORK (October 25, 2004) - MENC: The National Association for Music Education today announced a collaboration with Arts4All, Ltd., a leading provider of digital arts, arts education, and entertainment content.  The partnership will provide MENC members with discounts to ArtsPass, Arts4All’s new subscription Website for the arts. ArtsPass is the world's only digital gateway of packaged, theme-driven arts content for teachers, students, and audiences around the world. Online offerings include exclusive streaming video, live and interactive events, courses, master classes, and industry news from leading artists and arts institutions.

As part of the agreement, MENC members will receive special ArtsPass subscription discounts and other exclusive benefits. MENC and ArtsPass will also work together on the selection of featured artists for Webcasts and the development of music curriculum materials.

“Through our collaboration with Arts4All, we are making exciting new technology and content available for music education, which our members will find as an outstanding tool to complement their programs,” said MENC Executive Director John J. Mahlmann. “This type of program can only serve to enrich students' learning experiences and provide greater resources for our teachers.”
